This is the flagship UK-China programme responsible for sending up to 15 Chinese scholars a year to the UK to study for Master’s degrees.
This is a FULL scholarship, covering everything from the visa application fee to the return flight home and everything in between.
Applicants are open to pick the university and Master’s course subject of their own choice (excluding MBAs), although certain subjects are given priority.
Naturally these are highly competitive awards, so only the highest achieving candidates need apply. Successful candidates need to be approved by both the FCO and the CSC. The final choice of university and course must also be approved by both parties as being of suitable quality and of direct relevance to the needs of the candidate.
Candidates must be Chinese citizens, be mid-career professionals with a minimum of 3 years working experience, hold a Bachelor degree from a recognised Chinese university, have an overall IELTS band score of 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in any discipline) and not have spent any considerable length of time in the UK previously.
Candidates need to be able to demonstrate in their application that they are potential leaders of tomorrow’s China, within their particular field of study / interest.
